Iraq’s Ongoing Violence

Although international interest in Iraq was very high last decade, it has waned in the past couple years.  Nevertheless, the violence has increased dramatically since Sunni protests in April against a Shiite-led government.  The number killed daily in Iraq is startling.

I was recording Iraq daily death totals drawn from news reports here in 2013, but discovered later that I was duplicating (or rather, incompetently aping) the work going on at Iraq Body Count. They’re doing a more comprehensive job, so I refer interested readers to them.
